Gardener’s Journal: Winter Blues

The absence of continued sunlight on a daily basis means that many suffer from the ‘grey’ or ‘blues’ mood in winter. Daily addition of vitamin D is excellent for bones but also to help with mood uplift. The increased intake of pears, apples ,grapes and blueberries help to lessen the effects of the winter cloud cover. Why? And how does this help? There is of course a scientific answer, but I am just sharing experience and the practical side of what has helped me. So if you are feeling ‘blue’ in the winter the addition of these fruits into your daily diet will give you a life lift !
